OUR IMPACT

We Mean (Social) Business

Sustainability content integration in higher education refers to the deliberate incorporation of environmental, social, and economic principles into the academic fabric of universities. This approach recognizes the unique role that higher education institutions play in shaping the values, knowledge, and behaviors of future leaders, professionals, and citizens. It entails embedding sustainability concepts across disciplines and fostering a holistic understanding of sustainability issues among students, faculty, and staff.

Impact at Join EDuC

Join EDuC was formally incorporated in France under the name La Belle EDuC in October 2020 as a société à mission, which means that from its conception it has been legally bound to drive its operations forward with the overriding goal of creating positive impact on society, specifically: leading higher education institutions to greater integration of sustainability content and practice in curricula; offering all students greater visibility on educational content related to sustainability; contributing to the development and sharing of measurement tools and best practices for education stakeholders; and raising awareness among stakeholders of the challenges of sustainability and its integration in teaching and the student learning experience.

Join EDuC operates as an independent social business and has never wavered from its dedication to a clear social mission, placing impact at the forefront of all its activities. As such, Join EDuC prioritizes social and environmental impact over profit, ensuring that at every step its actions align with its core values and contribute to the greater good of society.

Impact at Back to School for the Planet

Back to School for the Planet (BTSP) was registered as a non-profit organization in France in January 2021 with the aim of encouraging and supporting its Alumni Sprint in higher education institutions of all types around the world. In universities, lifelong learning is often offered to a wide audience of professionals, including those who did not graduate from a higher education program and seek the soft and hard skills necessary to get to the next step of their career. Today, in the context of the climate emergency, the need for companies to change the way they do business calls for greater commitment from higher education to transform the paradigm not only among their current students but also among their alumni.
