23 TO CHANGE

Global Campaign for ESD in Higher Education

23 To Change takes the pulse of ESD integration in higher education curricula and we're currently inviting (through February 23, 2025 extended until March 9th!) higher ed institutions and faculty worldwide to participate – it only takes 15 minutes!

Participating allows you to obtain a basic education for sustainable development (ESD) maturity score at no cost and receive data about how your program compares with others (anonymized). Upon completion of the campaign you'll receive a certificate as evidence of your contribution to a better understanding of global ESD integration in higher education.

The criteria are derived from the four years of R&D behind the EDuC Label, the first international accreditation assessing the integration of sustainability content in higher education programs. View the 23 To Change Participant Guide for more details and to explore the 23 criteria.

"With 23 To Change, we want to make our ESD maturity assessment tool available globally to help higher ed leaders improve their integration of sustainability in the curricula while providing a new type of insights about ESD integration in the student experience. Both higher ed professionals and their stakeholders will benefit from an independent third party gathering and analyzing this data."

FAQ

Can I see the survey questions before I decide to participate in the 23 To Change campaign?

Yes, you can find all 23 questions, along with other helpful information about the campaign, in our 23 To Change Participant Guide

Who can participate in the 23 To Change campaign?

Any higher education program representative can participate in the campaign. This person just needs to have a high-level understanding of what’s happening in the degree program for which they are answering the survey. Note that it is possible to answer the survey more than once to cover several programs.

How do I participate in the 23 To Change campaign?

Beginning January 23, 2025, a public link to the 15-minute survey is available on our social media and on this webpage (accessible for one month until February 23rd extended until March 9th!).

What kind of a time commitment does the 23 To Change campaign require from me and my team?

From our experience: less than 15 minutes.

Are there any costs at all to participate in the campaign?

No, none.

What about if I want more than my basic score and positioning?

It’s possible, at an extra cost, by applying for the EDuC Label and signing up for EDuC Metrics.

Can you clarify what the difference is between the 23 To Change campaign and EDuC Metrics?

The 23 To Change campaign and EDuC Metrics are based on the same 23 questions. The difference is that 23 To Change is free while EDuC Metrics is a paid service for higher education institutions and coalitions wishing to assess, track and improve sustainability integration in their curricula. The deliverables are therefore different: thanks to your participation in 23 To Change, you’ll receive a basic assessment of your ESD integration. With EDuC Metrics, you’ll receive an extensive, detailed report that can be used for strategic, commercial and reporting purposes.
